Aleuria aurantia

The Orange Peel fungus (Aleuria aurantia) is an easy mushroom to really dislike at first glance, because it looks as if some careless passerby has tossed out handfuls of thin plastic trash on the bare ground. But Mother Nature can surprise us with unexpected encouragement, such as the fact a naturally occurring soil fungus can produce mushrooms that look vaguely like an orange peel but really look exactly like distracting, bright pieces of discarded trash we suddenly admire.
