Chlorophyllum molybdites
Almost every year, the Green-spored Lepiota, as this poisonous summer mushroom is often called, causes more cases of mushroom poisoning in North America than any other species of fungus. The reasons: It can grow right on your front lawn--plus it looks so tempting. The trouble is, it can make you agonizingly sick if you eat it: lots of painful vomiting and nausea. The works. You probably wouldn’t actually die if you ate one. But you would probably regret that outcome.
